Cornbread & Sweet Tea Cookbooks are some of the most interesting books to get lost in. Reading is great. Reading books about food, even better. I don't have a vast amount of cookbooks, but there are a few on my shelf that I adore. One is my Mitford Cookbook & Kitchen Reader. Jan Karon is the author of the Mitford book series. I began reading these stories as a young adult. I find an uncomplicated fiction story extremely relaxing. I love a book that has characters I want as neighbors. When I found this Kitchen Reader, adding it to my shelf was a must. This book has recipes of the many dishes woven throughout the Mitford stories, accompanied by anecdotes and passages from the series. I have, on a few occasions, sat down with this book and not only planned meals around its recipes but let time slip away while being reacquainted with the Mitford characters.
